About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead technical program execution in the Post Transaction & Returns area
- Lead large and complex initiatives supporting Sam’s Club growth and member strategies
- Work with product managers, architects, and engineering leaders to define and scope initiatives
- Build Discovery and Execution plans coordinating numerous cross-functional teams
- Lead multiple engineering teams delivering cross-functional initiatives
- Identify, track, and manage risks and issues threatening project or program success
- Communicate with team members, peers, and leadership to support effective program execution
- Drive consistency and improvement in technical program execution with peer TPMs, including standardizing practices and tooling
- Build and maintain relationships with engineering management, stakeholders, senior leadership, business partners, and external vendors
- Stay current with industry trends and incorporate new technologies and methodologies into project management practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related area and 5 years' experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area; alternatively, 7 years' experience in these areas
- 10+ years of experience as a technical program manager leading large and cross-functional initiatives
- Previous experience as a systems or software engineer
- Experience in eCommerce industry, ideally retail eCommerce
- Skilled communicator, including communication with senior leadership up to VP or SVP
- Several years of experience using Jira and Confluence to manage and track program execution
- Ability to contribute to design and architecture discussions based on previous engineering experience
- High level of integrity and respect for the individual
