About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate a department and perform assigned job-related duties
- Prepare and execute budgets, develop cost estimates, and approve purchases
- Manage internal scheduled projects, prioritize assignments, maintain workforce needs, and ensure project completion
- Create punch lists and approve material requisitions
- Lead third-party providers through coaching, performance evaluations, and quality assurance inspections
- Troubleshoot and provide customer service to facility users
- Evaluate landscaping replacement needs and implement sustainability upgrades
- Perform seasonal exterior maintenance, interior case cleaning, and shopping cart preventive maintenance
- Perform general maintenance, including snow and ice management and winter preparedness
- Maintain vehicles, coordinate required maintenance, and ensure alternate driving support
- Safely operate motor vehicles and verify required documentation and insurance
- Submit maintenance invoices for payment
- Operate, inspect, and maneuver heavy machinery and powered equipment; perform safety checks and address hazards
- Complete forms, work orders, expense vouchers, and weekly summaries
- Collaborate with managers, coworkers, customers, and business partners to complete priorities and assignments
- Ensure work meets Walmart quality, safety, policy, and environmental requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2 years' experience in the landscaping/gardening industry
- Valid state-issued driver's license
- Ability to operate, inspect, and maneuver heavy machinery and powered equipment in accordance with training, certification requirements, and safety procedures
- Compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and applicable environmental guidelines
- Preferred: Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area
- Preferred: Experience in third-party management
- Preferred: Intermediate-level functionality of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and related software
- Preferred: State/local licensing where required
