About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate and manage the Facility Services, Exterior Services department
- Support compliance with OSHA, EPA, company policies, safety procedures, and environmental guidelines
- Compare prices for parts, equipment, and travel-related costs; submit warranty claims
- Complete and submit expense vouchers, weekly summaries, and work orders
- Lead, coach, and evaluate third-party providers; conduct quality assurance inspections
- Troubleshoot customer issues and communicate with facility users regarding event needs
- Maintain clean, safe, and healthy work environments
- Evaluate landscaping and exterior replacement needs and implement sustainable facility upgrades
- Source tools and equipment, coordinate with Home Office support, and ensure repair quality and safety
- Prepare budgets and cost estimates; approve purchases and verify receipt and acceptance
- Develop capital expenditure lists and scopes of work for landscaping, snow events, case cleaning, and shopping cart maintenance
- Perform seasonal exterior maintenance, including snow and ice management, de-icing, and clearing walkways and drives
- Maintain vehicles, coordinate required maintenance, and arrange alternate driving support
- Safely operate motor vehicles and inspect fuel, water, brakes, signals, and lights
- Submit maintenance invoices and verify vehicle insurance coverage and validity
- Operate, inspect, and maneuver forklifts, material handling equipment, industrial machines, shop equipment, vehicles, and other heavy machinery
- Perform equipment safety checks and inspections; identify hazards and take corrective action or escalate issues
- Secure, park, and maintain assigned work vehicles according to Walmart policies
- Complete assignments by collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and business partners
- Promote inclusion, integrity, customer service, continuous improvement, and Walmart values
Requirements
What you’ll need- 21 years of age or older
- Valid state-issued driver’s license
- No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three years
- No more than two moving violations in the last three years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle
- No serious traffic violations within the last three years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle
- No preventable accidents within the last three years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle
- Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre-hire
- Ability to read and speak English
- 2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry
- Ability to successfully complete a DOT physical and maintain a minimum 90-day Medical Examiner’s Certification card
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area (preferred)
- Experience in third-party management (preferred)
- Intermediate-level functionality with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint (preferred)
- Spanish proficiency (preferred)
- State/local licensing where required (preferred)
