About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on food equipment, facilities, and fixtures
  • Inspect, clean, repair, operate, and test equipment and fixtures
  • Perform major and minor repairs using plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment skills
  • Diagnose issues using blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs
  • Use hand tools, power tools, hoists, heavy machinery, and other equipment
  • Respond to emergency calls and document repair activities
  • Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, contractors, expenses, and maintenance logs
  • Compare parts and travel-related costs; order and track parts and replacement equipment
  • Record purchases and usage; submit costs and warranty claims
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and federal, state, and local regulations
  • Ensure contractors follow company quality and safety standards
  • Participate in an on-call rotation outside standard business hours
  • Operate, inspect, and maneuver heavy machinery and powered equipment
  • Perform pre-operation and post-operation safety inspections and address hazards or malfunctions
  • Maintain and coordinate transportation of company vehicles for required maintenance
  • Safely operate motor vehicles and verify required documents, fuel, water, brakes, signals, and lights
  • Submit maintenance invoices and verify vehicle insurance coverage
  • Wear the company uniform and badge
  • Lead and participate in teams, coordinate work assignments, provide support, and help achieve timelines and quality standards
  • Develop and implement processes and practices by collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and business partners
  • Promote company policies, ethics, integrity, and compliance standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Option 1: Vocational or technical certification and 2 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area
  • Option 2: 4 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area
  • License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
  • Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years
  • Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years
  • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years
  • No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years
  • Must comply with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines
  • Preferred: Experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls
  • Preferred: Experience using Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Preferred: Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Preferred: Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
