About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform routine preventive maintenance on food equipment, facilities, and fixtures
- Inspect, clean, repair, operate, and test equipment and fixtures
- Diagnose issues, dismantle machines or facilities, and replace defective parts
- Perform plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment repairs
- Use blueprints, repair manuals, parts catalogs, hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment
- Respond to emergency calls and document repair activities
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors
- Compare parts and travel-related costs; order and track parts and replacement equipment
- Record purchases and usage, submit costs, and submit warranty claims
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and federal, state, and local regulations
- Ensure contractors follow company quality and safety standards
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to business-critical incidents outside standard hours
- Operate, inspect, and maneuver forklifts, material handling equipment, industrial machines, vehicles, and other powered equipment
- Perform pre-operation and post-operation safety inspections and address hazards or malfunctions
- Maintain company vehicles and coordinate required maintenance
- Safely operate motor vehicles and verify required documents, insurance, and vehicle condition
- Submit maintenance invoices for payment
- Lead and participate in teams, coordinate work assignments, and support timelines and work quality
- Develop and implement processes and practices by collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and business partners
- Support Walmart policies, values, ethics, integrity, customer service, and continuous improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Vocational or technical certification and 2 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area; or 4 years’ experience in those areas
- License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
- Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, or OUI within the last five years
- Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
- No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
- Experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related work for commercial HVAC/R and building controls (preferred)
- Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (preferred)
- Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams (preferred)
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment (preferred)
- Must comply with Walmart’s drug-free workplace policy
