About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart stores, equipment, and fixtures
  • Conduct inspections, cleaning, and repairs of facilities, equipment, and fixtures
  • Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment skills
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
  • Use the work order management system to receive reactive repair work orders and document repair activities
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls
  • Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues
  • Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely
  • Adhere to maintenance schedules and guidelines under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager
  • Train Store Associates in equipment care and cleaning
  • Maintain and repair commercial food equipment, including ovens, slicers, fryers, hot cases, ice makers, pizza ovens, rotisserie ovens, bakery equipment, and related systems
  • Support food safety by understanding and limiting cross-contamination risks
  • Deliver customer service and operational efficiency in Walmart stores

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Can lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
  • Can move up and down ladders frequently
  • Comfortable working at heights frequently
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Able to work in various temperatures
  • Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
  • Vocational or technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience, in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade
  • Vocational or technical certification and 2 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area, or 4 years’ experience in those areas
  • License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
  • Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years
  • Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years
  • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years
  • No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years
  • Ability to diagnose and repair commercial food equipment
  • Ability to develop and follow preventative maintenance schedules
  • Capability to train Store Associates on equipment care and cleaning
  • Competence in managing work orders and maintenance logs
  • Clear, transparent, and respectful communication
  • Strong collaborative skills and belief in Servant Leadership
