About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform routine preventive maintenance on facilities, equipment, and fixtures
- Inspect, clean, repair, and document wear and tear on facilities, equipment, and fixtures
- Gather capital expense information and recommend repairs or replacements
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, contractors, and maintenance documentation
- Compare prices, order parts and replacement equipment, track orders, record purchases and usage, and submit warranty claims
- Ensure work and contractor activities comply with Walmart standards, safety requirements, contracts, and federal, state, and local regulations
- Unload, store, and transport equipment between facilities
- Maintain company vehicles and coordinate required vehicle maintenance
- Safely operate motor vehicles and inspect required vehicle documents and conditions
- Submit maintenance invoices and verify vehicle insurance coverage
- Operate, inspect, and maneuver forklifts, material handling equipment, industrial machines, shop equipment, vehicles, and other heavy machinery
- Perform pre-operation and post-operation safety inspections
- Identify hazards and equipment malfunctions and take corrective action or escalate issues
- Lead and participate in teams, coordinate work assignments, and support timelines and work quality
- Develop and implement processes and practices by collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and business partners
- Promote compliance with company policies, ethics, integrity, and safety standards
- Support, develop, and mentor team members
Requirements
What you’ll need- Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area
- OR 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
- Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, or OUI within the last five years
- Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
- No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
- Experience using heavy machinery and powered equipment
- Must comply with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines
