About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform routine preventive maintenance on facilities, equipment, and fixtures
- Inspect, clean, repair, and document wear and tear on facilities, equipment, and fixtures
- Gather capital expense information and recommend repairs or replacements
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors
- Complete expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, and maintenance logs
- Compare prices for parts and travel-related costs
- Order parts and replacement equipment and track orders
- Record purchases and usage and submit warranty claims
- Ensure contractors meet Walmart quality, safety, and contract requirements
- Identify and report deficiencies
- Unload and store equipment and transport equipment between facilities
- Maintain company vehicles and coordinate required vehicle maintenance
- Safely operate motor vehicles and verify required vehicle documents and conditions
- Submit maintenance invoices and verify vehicle insurance coverage
- Operate, inspect, and maneuver forklifts, material handling equipment, industrial machines, shop equipment, vehicles, and other heavy machinery
- Perform pre-operation safety checks and post-operation inspections
- Identify unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, and hazards and take corrective action or escalate
- Lead and participate in teams, coordinate work assignments, and support timelines and work quality
- Develop, communicate, and implement processes and practices to meet business needs
- Collaborate with managers, coworkers, customers, and business partners
- Monitor progress and results and identify improvement opportunities
- Promote compliance with company policies, procedures, ethics, and integrity standards
- Support Walmart’s mission, values, and culture of belonging
- Help develop and mentor others
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least five years of verifiable electrical experience
- Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area, OR 4 years' experience in those areas
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
- Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five years
- No more than two moving violations in the last three years
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
- No serious traffic violations under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in the last three years
- Strong working knowledge of three-phase power systems
- Knowledge of building lighting controls
- Knowledge of commercial electrical infrastructure
- Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing power-related issues
- Ability to diagnose complex electrical problems safely and efficiently
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and powered equipment in accordance with training, certification, and safety procedures
- Ability to comply with OSHA, EPA, and federal, state, and local regulations
