About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Execute routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart stores, equipment, and fixtures
Work under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager
Follow established maintenance schedules and guidelines
Inspect, clean, operate, test, diagnose, maintain, and repair facilities, equipment, and fixtures
Use multiple craft skills, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment
Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
Use the work order management system to receive reactive repair work orders and document repair activities
Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls
Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely

Requirements

What you’ll need

18 years or older
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
Ability to move up and down ladders frequently
Comfortable working at heights frequently
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
Able to work in various temperatures
Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report
Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area; or 4 years' experience in one of these areas
Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five years
Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
No serious traffic violations under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in the last three years
Completion of a 2-year vocational or technical trade program is preferred
Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software is preferred
Related trade license is preferred
Prior experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams is preferred
Prior experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment is preferred
