About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform routine preventive maintenance on facilities, equipment, and fixtures
- Inspect, clean, repair, and document facilities, equipment, and fixtures
- Gather capital expense information and recommend repairs or replacements
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors
- Complete written and electronic maintenance, expense, and work-order documentation
- Compare parts and travel-related costs; order parts and replacement equipment
- Track orders, record purchases and usage, and submit warranty claims
- Comply with OSHA, EPA, and federal, state, and local regulations
- Ensure contractors meet Walmart quality, safety, and contract requirements
- Unload, store, and transport equipment between facilities
- Maintain company vehicles and coordinate required vehicle maintenance
- Safely operate motor vehicles and inspect required vehicle systems and documents
- Submit maintenance invoices and verify vehicle insurance coverage
- Operate, inspect, and maneuver forklifts, material-handling equipment, industrial machines, shop equipment, vehicles, and other powered equipment
- Perform pre-operation safety checks and post-operation inspections
- Identify unsafe conditions, malfunctions, and hazards; take corrective action or escalate
- Lead and participate in teams, coordinate work assignments, and support timelines and work quality
- Develop and implement processes and practices by collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and business partners
- Promote Walmart policies, ethics, integrity, and compliance standards
- Support inclusion, teamwork, mentoring, continuous improvement, and customer-focused results
Requirements
What you’ll need- Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area; alternatively, 4 years' experience in these areas
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
- Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last 5 years
- Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations within the last 3 years
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle within the last 3 years
- No serious traffic violations under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations within the last 3 years
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and powered equipment in accordance with training, certification, and safety procedures
- Preferred: completion of a 2-year vocational or technical trade program
- Preferred: experience using Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Preferred: related trade license in the city and/or state where the job is located
- Preferred: experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Preferred: experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
