About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart stores, equipment, and fixtures
- Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment
- Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
- Use the work order management system to receive reactive repair work orders and document repair activities
- Provide prompt responses to emergency maintenance calls
- Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues
- Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely
- Work under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager
- Follow established maintenance schedules and guidelines
- Conduct inspections, cleaning, and repairs
Requirements
What you’ll need- 18 years or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area
- Alternatively, 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area
- Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
- Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five years
- Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
- No serious traffic violations under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in the last three years
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
- Ability to move up and down ladders frequently
- Comfortable working at heights frequently
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Able to work in various temperatures
- Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program preferred
- Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software preferred
- Related trade license in the city and/or state where the job is located preferred
- Prior experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams preferred
- Prior experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment preferred
