About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain and repair Walmart facility Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets
  • Use commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
  • Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders and document repair activities
  • Support stores and store associates
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls
  • Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues
  • Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations, Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety policy, and environmental guidelines

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance
  • Large Scale Rack Refrigeration Experience
  • Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling
  • Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls, OR 4 years’ experience in a related field
  • Must hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling
  • Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
  • Clean commercial driving record meeting specified DUI/DWI/OUI, moving violation, accident, and serious traffic violation requirements
  • 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently
  • Ability to complete required safety training
  • Preferred: completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program
  • Preferred: experience using Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Preferred: mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located
