About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets
- Use commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
- Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders and document repair activities
- Support stores and store associates
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls
- Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues
- Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely
- Perform work in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations, Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety policy, and environmental guidelines
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance
- Large Scale Rack Refrigeration Experience
- Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for refrigerant handling
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
- 18 years or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Alternative: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls
- Alternative: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field
- Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling
- HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman where required
- Commercial driving record requirements: no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five years; no more than two moving violations in the last three years; no preventable commercial motor vehicle accidents in the last three years; no serious traffic violations under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software preferred
- Mechanical license preferred
- Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams preferred
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment preferred
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently
