About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain and repair Walmart facility Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets
Use commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders supporting stores and store associates
Document repair activities
Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls
Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues
Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely
Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations, Walmart Refrigeration HVAC safety policy, and environmental guidelines

Requirements

What you’ll need

Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls
Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field
2 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance
Large Scale Rack Refrigeration Experience
Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling
Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years
18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights
Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program is preferred
Experience using Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is preferred
Mechanical license in city and/or state where job is located is preferred
Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams is preferred
Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment is preferred
