About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets
  • Use commercial HVAC/refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment
  • Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders and document repair activities
  • Support stores and store associates
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls
  • Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues
  • Perform work in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations, Walmart safety policies, and environmental guidelines
  • Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance
  • Large-scale rack refrigeration experience
  • Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record report
  • Clean commercial driving record meeting stated DUI, moving violation, accident, and serious traffic violation requirements
  • 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls
  • Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field
  • HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman where required
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights
  • Ability to complete required safety training
