About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support and oversee repair of Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets
  • Maintain and repair commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment using hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment
  • Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders and document repair activities
  • Support stores and store associates
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls
  • Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues
  • Complete required safety training to operate equipment and tools
  • Perform work in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations, Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety policies, and environmental guidelines

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2 years' experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance
  • Large-scale rack refrigeration experience
  • Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling
  • Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record report
  • Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five years
  • No more than two moving violations in the last three years
  • No preventable commercial motor vehicle accidents in the last three years
  • No serious traffic violations under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in the last three years
  • At least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years' experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related commercial HVAC/R and building controls
  • Option 2: 4 years' experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field
  • Where required, HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman qualification
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders, and work frequently at heights
  • Preferred: completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program
  • Preferred: experience using Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Preferred: mechanical license in the city/state where the job is located
  • Preferred: experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Preferred: experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
