About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets
- Use commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment
- Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders and document repair activities
- Support stores and store associates
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls
- Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues
- Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely
- Perform work in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations, Walmart safety policies, and environmental guidelines
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance
- Large-scale rack refrigeration experience
- Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report
- 18 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls
- Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field
- Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling
- Where required, HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman
- No DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five years while operating a commercial vehicle
- No more than two moving violations in the last three years
- No preventable commercial motor vehicle accidents in the last three years
- No serious traffic violations under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in the last three years
- Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work frequently at heights
