About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver innovative interior design projects from initial concept through construction
- Lead internal and external project teams
- Maintain financial responsibility for projects by adhering to budgets and workplans
- Oversee development of contract documents
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate project phases, including conceptual, schematic, design development, construction documents, and construction services
- Prepare project schedules and maintain weekly project planner updates
- Discuss project health administratively and technically with the operations leader
- Escalate changing project conditions to office leadership
- Issue and obtain approval for additional services before starting additional scope
- Utilize resource groups for design and construction documents
- Provide construction services, including site visits and shop drawing reviews
- Coordinate with the contracts team for project contract execution
- Represent Ware Malcomb at public design review, development approval meetings, and project presentations
- Assemble and coordinate consultant teams, including scope, fees, selection, and contracts
- Mentor junior project members
- Assist with proposals and consultant team coordination
- Coordinate with accounting on accounts receivable, consultant payables, and invoicing
- Coordinate project consultants through all project phases
- Review contract documents with QC, peer reviewers, or the Project Architect before issuance
- Assist with marketing to existing and new clients
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of experience in the field of Interior Design or Architecture
- Diverse project experience, including workplace, retail or other commercial
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design
- AutoCAD and Revit skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Newforma
- Thorough knowledge of building codes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to coordinate a complete set of contract documents
