About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver innovative interior design projects from initial concept through construction
  • Lead internal and external project teams
  • Maintain financial responsibility for projects by adhering to budgets and workplans
  • Oversee development of contract documents
  • Serve as the primary client contact and ensure project success through leadership and client service
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate project phases
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules and weekly project planners
  • Discuss project health with the operations leader and escalate changing project conditions
  • Issue and obtain approval for additional services
  • Utilize resource groups for design and construction documents
  • Provide construction services, including site visits and shop drawing reviews
  • Coordinate project contracts, consultants, accounting, invoicing, accounts receivable, and consultant payments
  • Represent Ware Malcomb at public design review, development approval meetings, and project presentations
  • Assemble and coordinate consultant teams, including scopes, fees, selections, and contracts
  • Mentor junior project members
  • Assist with proposals, marketing, and client development
  • Coordinate quality-control and peer reviews of contract documents

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of experience in Interior Design or Architecture
  • Diverse project experience, including workplace, retail, or other commercial projects
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design
  • NCIDQ or ARIDO preferred
  • AutoCAD and Revit skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Newforma
  • Thorough knowledge of building codes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate a complete set of contract documents
