About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver innovative design projects to diverse clients through all phases
- Lead internal and external teams
- Be financially responsible for projects by adhering to budgets and workplans
- Oversee the development of contract documents
- Serve as the primary client contact
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate project phases
- Prepare project schedules
- Discuss project health administratively and technically with the operations leader
- Alert the Business Operations Manager to changing project conditions requiring office leadership attention
- Maintain and weekly update the project planner
- Issue and obtain approval for additional services before starting additional scope
- Utilize resource groups for design and preparation of design and construction documents
- Provide construction services, including site visits and shop drawing reviews
- Coordinate with the contracts team for project contract execution
- Represent Ware Malcomb at public design review or development approval meetings and project presentations
- Assemble and coordinate consultant teams, including scope, fees, consultant selection, and contracts
- Mentor junior project members
- Assist with proposals and consultant coordination
- Coordinate with accounting regarding accounts receivable, consultant payables, and invoicing
- Coordinate project consultants through all project phases
- Review contract documents with QC studio, peer reviewer, or Project Architect before issuance
- Assist with marketing to existing and new clients
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of experience in the field of Architecture
- Experience working on retail projects strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
- AutoCAD and Revit skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Newforma
- Thorough knowledge of building codes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to coordinate a complete set of contract documents
