About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Fabricate steel and other metal parts as indicated by work orders and blueprints
  • Operate a Press Brake and/or Shear
  • Turn handwheels to adjust rake (angle) and blade pressure
  • Position and clamp stops and side guides to set cut length and angle
  • Lift and position workpieces manually or by hoist or crane onto the machine bed or roller table
  • Start the machine to clamp and cut metal
  • Lay out cutting lines on metal when shearing single pieces
  • Tilt the bed or blade, or install fixtures, to shear, bevel, or trim fabricated items
  • Operate a portable shear to cut sheet metal
  • Inspect work to verify dimensions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Prior experience operating a Press Brake and/or Shear; set up experience a plus
  • Understanding of basic CNC controls
  • 1+ years prior production experience preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and measuring tape
  • Basic math and problem-solving skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure)
  • Experience in a fast-paced production environment
  • Able to pass all EHS required tests and clearances
