About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze transportation performance, freight spend, service trends, carrier scorecards, and operational metrics
- Develop and maintain transportation reports, dashboards, KPIs, and data visualizations
- Support transportation projects and continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis, business requirements documentation, solution testing, and results measurement
- Assist with transportation system enhancements, implementations, upgrades, and user acceptance testing for ERP, TMS, carrier, and logistics platforms
- Evaluate transportation processes and workflows and support standardization across domestic and international operations
- Develop working relationships with transportation partners, carriers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders
- Maintain transportation data, documentation, reporting structures, and system information
- Perform freight audit, invoice review, transportation accruals, reporting, and administrative compliance activities
- Support carrier procurement initiatives, service reviews, bid events, transportation contracts, and performance evaluations
- Lead shipment visibility, exception management, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Provide backup support for international air, ocean, import, export, and cross-border freight
- Coordinate domestic parcel, LTL, truckload, expedited, inbound, outbound, and intercompany shipments
- Monitor shipment execution, resolve transportation issues, and communicate status updates
- Support service, cost, compliance, and operational objectives while adhering to company policies, regulations, and customer expectations
- Assist with transportation compliance, freight forwarder coordination, customs documentation, and transportation governance
- Demonstrate behaviors aligned with Watts Values
- Travel domestically up to 10%
- Report to the Domestic Transportation Director
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field; in absence of degree, relevant work experience may be considered
- 3+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, shipping, or related operations
- Familiarity with various equipment sizes, modes of transportation, and fleet operations
- Ability to analyze transportation data and reporting to identify cost, service, and operational improvement opportunities
- Strong organization, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures
- Must successfully establish employment eligibility
- Must satisfactorily complete background checks, including drug screenings, and required pre-employment testing
- APICS certification (CPIM/CSCP) preferred
- SAP experience preferred
- Familiarity with international transportation processes, equipment, and terminology preferred
