About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead inbound and outbound sales prospecting and pipeline generation
- Identify, engage, and qualify new leads
- Build industry and product knowledge
- Spark meaningful conversations with prospective partners
- Prepare qualified prospects for handoff to a closer or assess readiness to adopt Wayfinder’s curriculum
- Engage with education leaders and nurture relationships
- Support sales enablement efforts
- Develop understanding of Wayfinder’s K–12 solutions
- Conduct market research to align offerings with school district needs
- Generate leads and identify potential partners across districts nationwide
- Manage and maintain the sales pipeline from initial outreach through handoff to sales executives
- Use Salesforce, Outreach.io, cold emailing, cold calling, and objection handling to create sales opportunities
- Clearly and persuasively communicate Wayfinder’s value propositions to overcome objections and secure meetings with district decision-makers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or 2–5 years of relevant professional experience, including 1–2 years in sales or business development with a track record of exceeding lead generation targets
- Experience with cold calling, follow-up, and objection handling
- Ability to build trust and engage effectively with high-level school district administrators
- Strong, polished written and verbal communication skills across phone, Slack, and email
- Resourceful, analytical thinker who enjoys finding creative solutions and navigating complex challenges
- Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment; adaptable, resilient, and comfortable navigating ambiguity independently
- Enthusiasm, persistence, and a “let’s figure it out” attitude while balancing changing priorities with steady execution
- Prior experience or demonstrated interest in the EdTech sector and/or K-12 education (preferred)
- Experience working with Salesforce or other CRM software (preferred)
- Some travel for conferences required
