About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the planning, organisation and prioritisation of the team’s activities
  • Ensure client engagements are delivered efficiently, consistently and according to agreed service standards
  • Develop, document and implement procedures and controls supporting professional standards, regulatory compliance and operational excellence
  • Oversee review of client management accounts before issuance
  • Ensure monthly, quarterly and statutory financial information is accurate, consistent and timely
  • Present financial information and related correspondence clearly and professionally to clients and stakeholders
  • Ensure corporation tax, VAT and statutory filing obligations are completed accurately and on time
  • Oversee preparation and submission of regulatory reports and returns
  • Drive continuous improvement across accounting and corporate services processes
  • Review and enhance reporting processes to shorten delivery timelines and improve quality and client experience
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Waystone Group
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Act as a senior point of contact where appropriate
  • Support strategic initiatives, ad hoc assignments and projects directed by the Board or senior management
  • Lead, coach and mentor Corporate Services team members
  • Support business growth, service enhancement and expansion of client relationships
  • Act as a director of client companies where required, maintaining governance, fiduciary oversight, conflicts management and compliance standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Capable of discharging each essential responsibility to a consistently high professional standard
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to use relevant business and reporting systems effectively
  • Strong technical accounting capability, including financial reporting, taxation and review of complex financial information
  • Experience with accounting platforms such as Xero is desirable
  • Highly organised and detail focused, with a disciplined approach to quality, accuracy and follow-through
  • Proven ability to learn quickly, exercise sound judgement and manage competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent written communication, numerical and analytical skills
  • Ability to prepare accurate financial information and polished client correspondence
