About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead analyses helping product, innovation, and business teams understand audience behavior, identify opportunities, and make data-informed decisions
- Map user journeys with data to demonstrate how audiences interact with products
- Translate product, innovation, and business questions into metrics, tracking plans, dashboards, and recommendations
- Own analytics tracking and measurement setup across websites, apps, audio products, and editorial analytics tools
- Validate tracking, monitor data quality, and resolve reporting or implementation issues
- Support product launches, migrations, workflow improvements, and experiments through measurement planning, data analysis, and QA
- Develop dashboards, reports, documentation, and automated workflows to help teams monitor performance
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and technology partners on analytics, tracking, and reporting needs
- Partner with Product, Innovation, and other teams across Chicago Public Media to support digital products, audience experiences, editorial initiatives, and business priorities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and analytics implementation
- Experience with SQL and working in data warehouses
- Experience with Looker or other BI tools
- Advanced analytical skills with experience collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating abundant information with accuracy
- Strong written, visual, and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Experience with app analytics, audio analytics, or cross-platform product measurement
- Experience working with data visualization tools
- Experience building interactive reports
- Experience creating dashboards for different audiences
- Experience developing calculated KPIs or metrics
- Experience managing vendor relationships or supporting third-party analytics and technology platforms
- Google Sheets/Microsoft Excel proficiency
- Collaborative mindset and sense of curiosity
