About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a portfolio of employee relations cases from intake through resolution
- Provide guidance to managers on performance concerns, conduct issues, attendance, workplace conflict, and policy violations
- Conduct prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations into complaints, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other workplace issues
- Document investigations, findings, recommendations, and outcomes
- Analyze case trends and recommend proactive actions to reduce recurring workplace issues
- Coach leaders on effective employee management practices
- Partner with managers on performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and separation decisions
- Provide recommendations balancing business needs, employee experience, legal compliance, and organizational values
- Support organizational changes, restructures, and workforce transitions
- Interpret and apply company policies consistently
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Partner with Legal and HR leadership on complex employee relations matters
- Assist with reviewing and updating policies, procedures, and workplace practices
- Maintain knowledge of employment law developments and workplace trends
- Facilitate conversations and interventions to resolve workplace conflicts
- Promote respectful workplace behaviors and foster positive employee relations
- Support employee engagement initiatives and help leaders address workplace concerns proactively
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees seeking workplace guidance
- Maintain accurate case documentation and records
- Track employee relations metrics and trends
- Prepare reports and insights for HR leadership on case volume, themes, risks, and resolution effectiveness
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, manager capability, and employee experience
- Develop and deliver leader training on employee relations best practices
- Educate managers on performance management, documentation, investigations, accommodations, and policy application
- Support creation of tools, templates, and playbooks for organizational consistency
- Use approved AI and digital tools to simplify work, improve service quality, and increase efficiency while validating outputs for accuracy, privacy, and business alignment
- Identify and escalate inaccurate information, knowledge gaps, and issues related to digital tools
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent, demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education
- 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with significant employee relations responsibility
- Experience conducting workplace investigations and managing complex employee relations matters
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance requirements
- Experience advising managers on performance management, corrective action, and terminations
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with HRIS and case management systems
- Proficient at using AI and digital tools
- Preferred: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
- Experience supporting multi-state workforces
- Experience in financial services, professional services, or other highly regulated industries
- Experience leveraging HR technology and AI-enabled tools to improve HR processes and case management
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods, file documents in high or low cabinets, use the telephone, and use computer systems
- Must be able to work remotely for this Remote position
