About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the daily operations of the residential home
  • Supervise, coach, and support Developmental Care Specialists
  • Provide feedback, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities
  • Coordinate staff onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and collaborative team culture
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, and mentoring employees and interns
  • Partner with clinicians and program leadership to maintain a therapeutic, trauma-informed residential environment
  • Support implementation of individualized treatment plans and evidence-based interventions
  • Model effective relationship-building and professional treatment techniques
  • Ensure quality care while maintaining safety, structure, and consistency
  • Develop staff schedules and assist with payroll administration
  • Ensure compliance with licensing standards, agency policies, quality assurance expectations, and documentation requirements
  • Monitor training completion, regulatory requirements, inspections, and reporting
  • Oversee the home’s physical environment, supplies, nutrition, and maintenance needs
  • Participate in on-call coverage
  • Collaborate with clinicians, residential leadership, Human Resources, the Learning Institute, Nursing, Education, Recreation Therapy, and other departments
  • Lead and participate in team meetings focused on client care and staff development
  • Build relationships with families, community partners, and external stakeholders
  • Support agency initiatives, utilization efforts, and continuous quality improvement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited undergraduate college, and a minimum of two (2) years of competent Youth Treatment experience —or— an Associate’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years of competent Youth Treatment experience —or— a High School diploma and a minimum of four (4) years of competent Direct Care experience
  • Familiarity and identification with basic concepts of residential treatment programming and the role of the Developmental Care Specialist
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Prior experience providing leadership and working with interdisciplinary teams preferred
  • Subscription to the Statement of Faith of Wedgwood Christian Services and agreement with the goal, purpose and objectives of the agency
