About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Organize, direct, and supervise Youth Treatment Specialists on each shift
- Support the Home Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor in managing the residential program
- Maintain Youth Treatment Specialist and Goal Worker duties
- Deploy staff to maximize treatment and resident coverage
- Ensure shift tasks are completed, including medication administration, observation notes, point sheets, and scheduled activities
- Provide treatment and programming direction and decision-making leadership
- Act as spokesperson for the shift with agency personnel and the public
- Initiate problem-solving and dispute resolution during the shift; report staff discipline needs
- Support and assist with staff training
- Provide and solicit feedback to promote training, growth, and teamwork
- Oversee clients' health and wellness, meals, physical activities, personal supplies, medical, dental, vision, hygiene care, first aid, CPR, and appointments
- Dispense medications at prescribed intervals
- Handle sick/absentee calls and fill open positions when required
- Meet with the home supervisor and other shift supervisors
- Maintain timely Quality Assurance compliance
- Provide daily care, counsel, supervision, and a therapeutic milieu for adolescents in residential treatment
- Assist with treatment programs and facilitate therapy, employment training, activities, school, transportation, and related programming
- Observe and monitor client behaviors and apply agency interventions
- Use non-violent physical crisis intervention techniques (Aegis) and complete required reports
- Transport residents to appointments, activities, work, and meetings
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Maintain a clean, orderly home and supervise resident housekeeping duties
- Report property damage
- Participate in supervision and team meetings
- Provide feedback for staff evaluations
- Maintain professional confidentiality and protect resident and family rights
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of six (6) months of competent experience at Wedgwood Christian Services
- Subscription to the Statement of Faith of Wedgwood Christian Services and agreement with the goal, purpose and objectives of the agency
- Meets all qualifications described in the Youth Treatment Specialist job description
- English speaking required; Spanish speaking preferred
- Must be 21 years of age
- A high school diploma or equivalent required
- Additional education and/or certification in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field preferred
- Prior experience supervising adolescents with emotional/behavioral disorders preferred
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Varicella vaccination/immunity requirements
- MMR vaccination/immunity requirements
- DTaP or DTap complete primary vaccination series requirements
- Annual influenza vaccination required during flu season
- Must wear masks and use PPE after exposure
- Adhere to quarantine protocols
- Regular, predictable, and reliable attendance; maintain a consistent work schedule
- Combination of 1st shift (6a-4p) and 2nd shift (12p-10p), including 3 weekdays and every other weekend
