About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide daily care, counsel, and supervision to adolescents in a residential treatment program
  • Perform bed checks at least every 15 minutes
  • Document accurate bed-check records, reports, and client behaviors
  • Create a therapeutic milieu characterized by warmth, empathy, and respect
  • Assist with developing, implementing, and evaluating client treatment programs
  • Facilitate and support therapy, employment training, activities, school, transportation, and other programs
  • Observe and monitor client behaviors and apply established agency interventions
  • Use non-violent physical crisis intervention techniques (Aegis) when residents may harm themselves or others, including completing required reports
  • Serve as a stable, positive role model and maintain helping relationships with residents
  • Oversee clients' health and wellness, including meals, physical activities, clothing, hygiene supplies, medical, dental, and vision care
  • Provide first aid or CPR if required and schedule appointments as assigned
  • Dispense medications at prescribed intervals as assigned
  • Assist other programs during crises or staff shortages
  • Transport residents as needed
  • Maintain a clean, orderly home and supervise residents completing housekeeping duties
  • Report personal and physical property damage using established procedures
  • Participate in supervision and team meetings
  • Seek feedback and provide feedback for staff evaluations
  • Maintain timely Quality Assurance compliance
  • Protect resident and family confidentiality
  • Represent the agency professionally on and off the job
  • Perform other duties assigned by home, assistant, or shift supervisors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • English speaking required; Spanish speaking highly preferred
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • A high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Additional education and/or certification in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field preferred
  • Prior experience supervising adolescents with emotional/behavioral disorders preferred
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Varicella vaccination or documented immunity as specified
  • Two doses of MMR vaccine or titers indicating immunity
  • Complete primary DTaP/DTap vaccination series and adult dose as applicable
  • Single influenza vaccination annually during flu season
  • Must wear masks provided by Wedgwood
  • PPE required after exposure
  • Adhere to quarantine protocols
  • Subscription to the Statement of Faith of Wedgwood Christian Services and agreement with the agency's goal, purpose, and objectives
