About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide transportation to clients for medical appointments, legal appointments, hearings, and other social agencies
  • Assist with intake and discharge transportation, including interstate travel for reunification with a sponsor
  • Assist the case management team with administrative tasks
  • Supervise youth and complete required Youth Treatment Specialist activities
  • Establish and maintain professional boundaries
  • Maintain knowledge of trauma and attend continuous Sanctuary Model of Care training
  • Create a therapeutic milieu marked by warmth, empathy, and respect
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating client treatment programs
  • Facilitate and support therapy, employment training, activities, school, transportation, and other programs
  • Observe and monitor client behaviors and apply established agency interventions
  • Serve as a teacher, supporter, and role model
  • Use non-violent physical crisis intervention techniques (Aegis) and complete required reports
  • Support clients' health and wellness, meals, physical activities, clothing, hygiene, medical, dental, and vision care
  • Provide first aid or CPR if required and schedule appointments
  • Dispense medications at prescribed intervals as assigned
  • Transport residents to appointments, activities, work, and meetings
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
  • Maintain a clean and orderly residential home and supervise housekeeping duties
  • Report property damage using established procedures
  • Participate in supervision and team meetings
  • Solicit and provide feedback, including feedback for staff evaluations
  • Maintain Quality Assurance compliance
  • Protect resident and family confidentiality
  • Perform other duties assigned by home, assistant, or shift supervisors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • English speaking required; Spanish speaking preferred
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Additional education and/or certification in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or a related field preferred
  • Prior experience supervising adolescents with emotional/behavioral disorders preferred
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Subscription to the Statement of Faith of Wedgwood Christian Services and agreement with the goal, purpose, and objectives of the agency
  • Demonstrates organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide excellent and compassionate customer service
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
  • Reliable with time sensitive deadlines and tasks
  • Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions
  • Active motor vehicle license and reliable vehicle with adequate insurance coverage
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries
  • Documentation of immunity to vaccine preventable diseases or willingness to receive vaccination or seek an exemption
