About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide daily care, counsel, and supervision to adolescents in a residential treatment program
- Assist with development, implementation, and evaluation of individual client treatment programs
- Facilitate and support therapy, employment training, activities, school, transportation, and other programs
- Observe and monitor client behaviors and apply established agency interventions
- Serve as a teacher, supporter, and role model
- Use non-violent physical crisis intervention techniques (Aegis) when residents may harm themselves or others, including required reports
- Oversee residents' health and wellness, including meals, physical activities, clothing, hygiene supplies, medical, dental, vision, and hygiene care
- Provide first aid or CPR if required and schedule appointments as assigned
- Dispense medications at prescribed intervals as assigned
- Transport residents to appointments, activities, work, and meetings
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Support and participate in housekeeping and maintaining an orderly home
- Report personal and property damage using established procedures
- Participate in supervision and team meetings
- Seek and solicit feedback and provide feedback for staff evaluations
- Maintain Quality Assurance compliance
- Protect resident and family confidentiality
- Perform other duties as assigned by home, assistant, or shift supervisors
Requirements
What you’ll need- English speaking required; Spanish speaking preferred
- Must be 21 years of age
- A high school diploma or equivalent required
- Additional education and/or certification in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field preferred
- Prior experience supervising adolescents with emotional/behavioral disorders preferred
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Varicella vaccination/immunity documentation required
- MMR vaccination/immunity documentation required
- Complete primary DTaP/DTap vaccination series, including one adult DTaP dose if the childhood series was completed
- Annual influenza vaccination required during flu season
- Must wear masks provided by Wedgwood
- PPE required after exposure
- Adhere to quarantine protocols
- Subscription to the Statement of Faith of Wedgwood Christian Services and agreement with the goal, purpose, and objectives of the agency
- Availability for Monday-Sunday scheduling, including 3 weekdays and every other weekend, across 1st shift (6a-4p) and 2nd shift (12p-10p)
