About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver exceptional education, partner with customers, and support sales partners to grow and convert the Salon & School business
  • Facilitate educational classes that drive consumption of Wella brands for DSO and BSG channels tied to channel KPIs
  • Coach a team of independent stylist contractors delivering intentional education seminars
  • Partner with customers and sales on education strategy, including conversions, classes, and custom events
  • Support multiple sales territories in partnership with Account Managers and Distributor Sales Consultants
  • Represent Education internally and externally with hairdressing credibility
  • Manage and plan education tied to sales goals, Education Scorecards, deliverables, and the brand initiative calendar
  • Contract and maintain a roster of Independent Stylist Contractors
  • Manage budgets for seminars, travel and entertainment, office supplies, and samples
  • Support Independent Contractors to meet current and future business needs
  • Deploy education seminars and programs and establish expectations for the Wella Professional Education team
  • Lead engaging seminars online and in person for licensed beauty professionals, including foundational product knowledge and craft/techniques
  • Build internal and external networks and maintain relationships with education, customer, and sales teams
  • Create action plans and follow through to achieve exceptional results
  • Stay current with trends, thinking, and issues in the professional beauty hair industry
  • Attend regional and company training for further craft and career development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Valid cosmetology license
  • Minimum 5 years of hairdressing experience behind the chair
  • Minimum 3 years of facilitation, teaching, or presentation experience
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and, at times, extended hours
  • Ability to transport education presentation materials, sample cases, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Beauty and HD industry and local marketplace
  • Commercially and sales savvy to coach salon & school owners/managers on business strategy & development
  • Strong industry competitor awareness, with focus on color
  • Structured, solution-oriented thinking with very strong analytical and strategic abilities
  • Leading by example, self-initiative and proactive
  • In-depth knowledge of Online/Offline Education
  • Up to date and aware of current beauty and fashion
  • Proficient English skills (in writing and verbally); bilingual Spanish in specific markets
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PPT, Excel) and Apple (iPad/apps)
  • Proficient with relevant digital/SoMe platforms: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Minimum 60% travel time, including overnight travel
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel long distances
  • Able to travel via air for training and sales meetings at minimum 1–2 times per year
