About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee planning, coordination and oversight of client and fund lifecycle events
  • Manage transition and operational events for Wellington’s sponsored fund ranges
  • Oversee new mandate fundings, terminations, asset-in-kind flows and product/portfolio changes
  • Apply effective project management with emphasis on operational risk and controls
  • Coordinate with infrastructure, investment and client platform teams
  • Manage internal cross-functional coordination and external communications
  • Communicate with clients, transition managers, custodian banks, third-party accounting agents, outsourcing providers and vendors
  • Evaluate event complexity, special requirements and risks
  • Ensure appropriate parties and functional groups are informed and engaged
  • Adjust strategy and execution based on client needs and internal policies and standards
  • Consider ongoing servicing requirements for each event

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years in the investment management industry
  • Broad knowledge of investment processes and operational topics
  • Knowledge of various investment strategies
  • Knowledge of custody operations
  • Knowledge of fund administration/accounting
  • Deep securities knowledge, including derivatives
  • Knowledge of operational infrastructure and security lifecycles
  • Excellent organizational, project planning and execution skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask under time constraints
  • Ability to lead client events and operational issues to consensus
  • Problem-solving skills to understand client objectives and develop effective solutions
  • Strong business judgment and risk awareness
  • Ability to synthesize complex issues and balance competing objectives
