About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee planning, coordination, and oversight of client and fund lifecycle events
- Oversee transition and operational events for Wellington’s sponsored fund ranges
- Manage operational aspects of new mandate fundings, terminations, asset-in-kind flows, and product/portfolio changes
- Apply effective project management with emphasis on operational risk and controls
- Coordinate with infrastructure, investment, and client platform teams to execute risk-managed transition events
- Coordinate internal cross-functional stakeholders and communicate externally with clients, transition managers, custodian banks, third-party accounting agents, outsourcing providers, and vendors
- Evaluate event complexity, special requirements, and risks
- Consider ongoing servicing requirements and adjust strategy and execution according to client needs and internal policies
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years in the investment management industry
- Broad knowledge of investment processes and operational topics
- Knowledge of various investment strategies
- Knowledge of custody operations
- Knowledge of fund administration/accounting
- Deep securities knowledge, including derivatives
- Knowledge of operational infrastructure and security lifecycles
- Excellent organizational, project planning and execution skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask under time constraints
- Ability to lead client events and operational issues and bring parties to consensus
- Problem-solving skills to understand client objectives and develop effective solutions
- Strong business judgment and risk awareness
- Ability to synthesize complex issues and balance competing objectives
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, other functions, and offices
