About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Start up and shut down all X-Ray equipment
  • Properly identify patients and confirm ordered examinations
  • Travel to designated locations within the assigned region to perform X-Ray exams
  • Complete responsibilities relating to the company fleet vehicle, including gassing the vehicle and completing daily checklists and logs
  • Monitor communication venues and remain in communication with teams at locations
  • Prepare patients for radiological procedures and conduct x-rays following established patient-care and safety procedures
  • Obtain detailed patient histories and note observations during radiologic examinations
  • Use radiation protection and shielding materials
  • Ensure radiology equipment is functioning appropriately and report malfunctions to the Lead Radiologic Technologist
  • Complete radiologic procedures in the EMR and make billing-related notations
  • Obtain pre-authorization from insurance companies for CT scans
  • Confirm X-Ray exams in PACS and ensure reports are available in patient charts
  • Clarify discrepancies in radiology readings with medical providers
  • Clean and stock sites with other team members
  • Participate in quality control and assurance programs
  • Perform basic medical assisting and occupational medicine technician duties, including greeting and registering patients and triaging incoming phone calls

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Mastery of best practice x-ray procedures and protocols
  • Understanding of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform x-ray testing, including body mechanics and patient movement
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment and common radiology safety hazards
  • Capability to identify equipment issues and troubleshoot problems
  • Capacity to apply written instructions and standardized work practices and protocols
  • Friendly and outstanding customer service skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Basic computer skills, including Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Minimum high school degree or equivalent required
  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, or current student with an upcoming graduation date within the next 4–6 months, contingent upon successful graduation and ability to obtain required certifications and licensures
  • Active ARRT Certification and Registration
  • Applicable state licensure, as required by state
  • Active driver's license
