About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Start up and shut down all X-Ray equipment
- Identify patients and confirm ordered examinations
- Travel to designated locations within the assigned region to perform X-Ray exams
- Complete fleet vehicle responsibilities, including gassing, daily checklists, and logs
- Monitor communication venues and remain in communication with location teams
- Prepare patients and conduct x-rays following established patient-care and safety procedures
- Obtain patient history and document observations during radiologic examinations
- Use radiation protection and shielding materials
- Ensure radiology equipment functions properly and report malfunctions
- Complete radiologic procedures in the EMR and provide billing notes as necessary
- Obtain insurance pre-authorization for CT scans
- Confirm X-Ray exams in PACS and ensure reports are available in patient charts
- Clarify discrepancies in radiology readings with medical providers
- Clean and stock sites with team members
- Participate in quality control and assurance programs
- Perform basic medical assisting and occupational medicine technician duties, including greeting/registering patients and triaging incoming calls
Requirements
What you’ll need- Mastery of best practice x-ray procedures and protocols
- Understanding of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform x-ray testing, including body mechanics and patient movement
- Knowledge of radiology equipment and common safety hazards
- Capability to identify equipment issues and troubleshoot problems
- Capacity to apply written instructions and standardized work practices and protocols
- Friendly and outstanding customer service skills
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Basic computer skills, including Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Minimum high school degree or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, or current student with an upcoming graduation date within 4–6 months, contingent upon successful graduation and obtaining required certifications and licensures
- Active ARRT Certification and Registration
- Applicable state licensure, as required by state
- Active Driver’s License
