About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform copy-editing tasks on assigned projects or accounts
  • Perform on-demand translation tasks
  • Provide lead support on assigned projects or accounts
  • Manage and maintain language materials, including glossaries, style guides, and work instructions
  • Manage project-related queries
  • Facilitate team interaction and resolve terminology and language questions
  • Test and qualify new freelancers and vendors
  • Develop and train internal linguists and external partners
  • Interact with clients on linguistic matters
  • Participate in developing and improving working processes
  • Meet or exceed productivity, on-time delivery, and quality KPIs
  • Achieve goals set by the team manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University degree in Translation/Applied Languages/Linguistic Studies or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • University degree in another field plus 2 years of full-time translation experience, or 5 years of full-time professional translation experience
  • Native fluency in Brazilian Portuguese
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken, in a variety of registers
  • 4+ years of experience in translation/localization/editing or content writing
  • 2+ years of review experience
  • Thorough understanding of the localization process
  • Experience with Windows and Office applications
  • Experience with CAT tools such as XTM and SDL Studio
  • Experience with issue tracking and query management tools such as JIRA
  • Ability to learn new localization tools and applications quickly
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of terminology in two or more subject matters
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines
  • Ability to give clear, concise, and constructive feedback
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and linguists
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret varied written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
  • Ability and willingness to train or teach others and pass on knowledge
  • Ability, willingness, and experience communicating positively with customers at various levels
  • Ability to work within a virtual team
