About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Approve, administer and review loans and loan commitments for policy adherence and adequate collateral documentation
- Provide a first line of defense within the Bank’s Credit Risk Management framework
- Oversee primary credit portfolio management and reporting activities
- Build relationships with account officers by assisting with analyzing, underwriting and managing credits
- Support Credit Administration’s prescreening, underwriting and approval process
- Review large and complex loans before submission to the Chief Credit Officer
- Communicate with the Chief Credit Officer on deal pipeline, portfolio issues and material matters
- Apply decision-making techniques within approval limits and support employee development
- Review and update credit policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with Bank policies, procedures and applicable state and federal banking regulations
- Review legal documents for accuracy and consistency with approved terms and conditions
- Assess concentration limits, concentration risk and local economic conditions
- Assist with quarterly portfolio reviews
- Oversee loan grading and risk-rating processes
- Assist with workout credits, prepare LAPSRs for criticized loans and monitoring reports for Watch credits
- Assist Loan Officers in managing weak credits
- Perform post mortems on charged-off loans
- Correspond with legal counsel and collectors on workouts, bankruptcies and charge-offs
- Provide data inputs, quality control, dashboard reporting and execution support for portfolio credit risk management processes
- Lead and develop a team, including hiring, coaching, performance management, training and development
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- Previous leadership experience required
- Expert knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services
- Expert knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices
- Expert speaking and writing communication skills
