About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify a target market for new business and develop and establish a book of new business from those relationships
  • Negotiate, underwrite, and coordinate the closing of major and complex loans in compliance with Bank lending policies and procedures
  • Develop business checking and deposit relationships with customers
  • Assist clients with deposit-related products and services
  • Gather and analyze client information to recommend appropriate deposit product solutions
  • Compile and analyze market research data to develop recommendations regarding products and services for the target market
  • Engage in business development activities and solicit new business
  • Collaborate with the treasury partner to ensure seamless client experiences
  • Call on and visit target customers to promote and sell Bank products and services
  • Develop and maintain the customer database, including calls and results on new business relationships
  • Interview prospective applicants and request information related to loan or credit applications
  • Perform pre-qualification assessments and analyze financial condition and financing risk
  • Prepare financing requests for senior management or Loan Committee approval
  • Meet with prospective customers, visit loan sites, negotiate loan terms, and recommend acceptance to the Chief Credit Officer or Loan Committee
  • Coordinate processing of approved loans and ensure compliance with agreements, customer needs, and Bank lending policies
  • Obtain customer information and documentation and solve loan processing and servicing problems
  • Maintain knowledge of financial industry status and trends
  • Recommend products and services requiring improved performance
  • Represent the Bank in community, civic, and community reinvestment functions to enhance the Bank's image and develop business
  • Assist the Bank in establishing and maintaining its market position in financing

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices
  • Advanced knowledge in all facets of relationship management
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills
  • May require up to 50% travel
