About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Drive day-to-day lending team execution and cross-functional collaboration
Manage a team of portfolio managers and analysts supporting Juris Banking Lending and Deposit Sales teams
Oversee underwriting and origination of loans to law firms and related businesses
Manage the health of existing client relationships and ensure compliance with Bank lending policies and procedures
Manage portfolio manager and credit analyst workflow
Own end-to-end loan execution, including prioritization, resource allocation and delivery against timelines
Drive process improvements and workflow efficiency
Serve as primary escalation point for standard transactions and portfolio risks
Partner with sales to develop new and maintain existing client relationships
Interface with clients in person, by phone and email to assess credit needs and determine appropriate structures and analysis requirements
Complete loan prescreening
Review prescreen memos, loan presentations, risk rating reviews, financial analyses, action plans and other portfolio management work
Supervise credit concentration reviews, portfolio optimization and analysis of trends and factors affecting projects
Lead and develop the team through hiring, coaching, performance management, training and development
Reinforce superior customer service through example and follow-through

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of related experience in Portfolio Management or a similar position
Advanced knowledge of underwriting commercial credits at a bank, including loan structuring
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
Previous leadership experience required
Strong analytical and project management skills
Advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services
Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices
Advanced speaking and writing communication skills
Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations
