About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of capital projects aligned with business objectives, scope, schedule, and budget
  • Develop project execution strategies, plans, and governance processes
  • Oversee engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup activities
  • Monitor and manage project scope, cost, schedule, risks, and performance; implement corrective actions
  • Provide leadership and direction to project teams, including delegation, performance management, coaching, and employee development
  • Organize and staff project teams
  • Serve as primary liaison among internal stakeholders, contractors, site leadership, customers, and senior management
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities, resolve issues, and support project success
  • Establish and maintain safety, quality, and risk management programs
  • Manage contractor and vendor relationships, including contract strategy, negotiations, performance oversight, and project support
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies
  • Prepare and present project status updates, forecasts, recommendations, and key decision points to senior leadership
  • Support construction, commissioning, startup, facility turnover, and project closeout activities
  • Capture and apply lessons learned and stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices
  • Supervise Project / Construction Managers and Engineers
  • Manage multi-site project activities across studies, FEED/Basic Engineering, Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, Commissioning, and Project Close-Out

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
  • Minimum 15 years of project-related experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or related industry
  • At least 5 years of project management leadership experience
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence, collaborate, and build effective relationships across all levels and with external stakeholders
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, delegate responsibilities, develop talent, provide performance feedback, and support employee growth through coaching and performance management
  • Ability to plan, execute, and deliver complex projects on time and within budget while managing priorities, resources, risks, and changing business needs
  • Strong business acumen, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Current knowledge of industry trends, technologies, standards, and best practices
  • Accountability, sound judgment, and commitment to organizational and project objectives
  • Ability to meet the stated physical demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work in project-site environments involving extreme temperatures, climbing, extensive walking, elevated platforms, and required personal protective equipment
  • Ability to undertake extensive air and auto travel, including international travel, and potentially live abroad for extended periods
