About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable backend services and APIs
- Build and enhance microservices and distributed systems
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including Oracle and PostgreSQL, focusing on performance, scalability, and data integrity
- Develop solutions using Kafka, Elasticsearch, AWS, and containerized environments
- Contribute to cloud-native architecture for scale, availability, security, and reliability
- Write clean, maintainable, testable, and well-documented code
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate with engineers, product partners, and stakeholders
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and develop sustainable long-term solutions
- Apply DevOps practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, deployment, and monitoring
- Take ownership of projects from requirements and design through development, testing, deployment, and production support
- Learn new technologies and adapt across technology stacks as business and technical needs evolve
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong programming experience in Java and/or Python
- Understanding of object-oriented design and software engineering fundamentals
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, problem-solving, and API design
- Experience building and supporting RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-based applications
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL, including writing and optimizing SQL
- Exposure to NoSQL databases, Elasticsearch, or other distributed data technologies
- Experience with or understanding of event-driven architectures and Kafka
- Experience with AWS or another major cloud platform
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code and DevOps practices
- Understanding of CI/CD, automated testing, containerization, and modern software development practices
- Ability to work effectively in an agile, collaborative environment and communicate technical concepts clearly
- Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to learn new technologies
