About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop, drive, and execute the long-term vision and strategy for Corporate Payments cross-cutting and core services
Define and implement the architectural roadmap for the Bill Pay platform
Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java and Spring Boot applications running in AWS Cloud
Build and enhance event-driven services using Apache Kafka
Develop and maintain PostgreSQL and Oracle database solutions, including SQL development and Oracle stored procedures
Collaborate with Corporate Payments engineering teams to reuse development practices, services, and components
Implement engineering practices that reduce time-to-market while maintaining quality and reliability
Foster innovation, collaboration, empowerment, and continuous learning within the engineering team

Requirements

What you’ll need

2+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong experience developing applications using Java and Spring Boot
Experience developing and deploying applications on AWS Cloud
Experience building event-driven applications using Apache Kafka
Experience developing and supporting applications using PostgreSQL and Oracle Database
Experience with Oracle stored procedures and SQL optimization
Experience writing high-quality automated tests, including unit, component, and integration tests
Strong understanding of the test pyramid
Strong understanding of software design principles, security, and compliance requirements in cloud and data environments
Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and technical communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment with changing priorities
Preferred: experience in financial services or payments, cloud-native SaaS applications, and geographically distributed engineering teams
