About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive value creation by identifying strengths and competitive advantages and incorporating them into marketing strategy and customer service initiatives
- Serve as Weyerhaeuser’s key interface with national builders, building materials dealers, and home improvement warehouse customers
- Act as liaison between Weyerhaeuser and enterprise customers
- Manage relationships with typically the largest national customers
- Facilitate executive-level discussions regarding joint business strategies, opportunities, solutions, and issues beyond day-to-day business
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships with key internal and external executives and stakeholders
- Lead corporate-level discussions in a consultative sales environment
- Provide leadership and insight into account performance across Wood Products businesses
- Forecast and track key account metrics and communicate results and progress to stakeholders
- Collaboratively develop business proposals and contracts
- Lead negotiations, analysis, and communications around proposals
- Identify opportunities to use Weyerhaeuser solutions to benefit customers while achieving business goals
- Partner with Strategic Marketing and Wood Products Sales teams to define industry, geographic, and customer-segment goals, targets, and opportunities
- Collaborate with sales leaders to support strategy implementation
- Facilitate and support in-market customer-account activities
- Serve as the single point of contact, resolving customer requests and issues by escalating problems to internal decision makers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven negotiation ability, including conflict resolution and external negotiations involving program negotiation, customer conflict, Partner agreements, OSB, EWP, and contracts
- Advanced knowledge of wood product end uses, manufacturing, market dynamics, and product supply channels
- Proven ability to form and maintain strong relationships at all levels, especially executive level
- Ability to leverage contacts to create business opportunities and maintain relationships
- Strong market knowledge and direct involvement with key channel stakeholders
- Ability to facilitate and foster honest and candid stakeholder input
- Ability to gather and review input, provide clear direction, and maximize channel results
- Flexible and adaptable planning
- Strong economic and financial acumen
- Ability to evaluate product and service offerings for profitability and balance costs versus return to maximize ROI
- Excellent professional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- HS/GED and 10+ years of directly related experience OR a 4-year degree and 6+ years in a wood products, building materials, or closely related industry customer-facing position
