About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Engineer, design, and review concrete formwork and shoring layouts, including custom elements for complex projects
- Support pre-construction and active project phases
- Develop detailed formwork and shoring drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Perform structural calculations to validate load capacities and ensure safety
- Prepare bills of material and review peer designs for accuracy and optimization
- Plan and lay out formwork and shoring systems based on inventory, schedule, cost, and customer requirements
- Collaborate with construction teams to support effective implementation of designs
- Provide technical input to sales and operations teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Attend customer meetings during and after the sales process to support technical discussions and design alignment
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems
- Independently perform assignments and develop solution approaches
- May oversee project completion, including planning, assigning, monitoring, and reviewing work
- Contribute to employees' professional development
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS/BA in a related discipline required
- Generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field, or MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field
- Certification is required in some areas
- BS Civil Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience designing bridge overhang brackets
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Professional Engineers License preferred
- Ability to perform structural calculations and validate load capacities
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles for formwork and shoring systems
