About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Independently author sections, challenge activities, labs, and other content types
  • Take ownership of assigned projects or titles and serve as lead author on one or more titles
  • Maintain a backlog of improvements for engineering titles
  • Contribute strategy and roadmap ideas to Leads or Senior Managers
  • Ensure project or title quality in collaboration with the project manager
  • Speak at conferences and publish research papers, articles, webinars, and blog posts
  • Collaborate with development colleagues to define and develop interactive tools
  • Create modern web-based content with interactive learning questions and animations across engineering topics
  • Oversee external authoring projects, including evaluating proposals, training authors on the zyBooks platform, and reviewing content for quality and guideline adherence
  • Maintain and improve existing content
  • Collaborate with engineering colleagues to develop interactive tools
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales on demos, instructor feedback, and special requests

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Education
  • Experience with LaTeX, MathML, and/or XML
  • Previous teaching experience and/or previous authoring experience
  • A passion for making a real difference in engineering education
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated and organized
  • Resume/CV required
  • Preferred: Previous academic research experience and publications in engineering education
  • Preferred: Experience coding in MATLAB and/or Python
