About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive the development of a new commercial residential property insurance product line in Florida
  • Develop and implement a commercial residential program aligned with the organization’s risk appetite, goals, and objectives
  • Create a detailed business plan for commercial residential opportunities in the Florida market, including opportunities, risk parameters, and underwriting requirements
  • Develop commercial residential underwriting activities and processes addressing potential risks
  • Partner with the risk management team to develop guidelines, forms, and procedures regarding risk exposure, application requirements, and related activities
  • Collaborate and coordinate with leaders across the organization to meet program goals and objectives
  • Monitor performance, analyze data, and identify trends and opportunities for program improvement
  • Assist in setting financial targets and developing and monitoring budgets

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 15 years underwriting, product development or related experience in the property insurance industry
  • At least 10 years focused on Florida Commercial Residential policies
  • 5+ years' proven leadership/management experience required
  • CPCU certification preferred
  • Proven experience as a leader in Commercial Residential Insurance
  • Deep understanding of commercial residential policies, underwriting, and procedures required
  • In-depth knowledge of market research methods and analysis
  • Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
  • Commercial residential market knowledge partnered with a strategic mindset
  • Significant understanding of insurance software programs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively
  • Deep understanding of business operations, procedures, and priorities with a strong ability to support change and impart value within an organization
  • Proficient in MSO/365 applications including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must reside in AL, AR, CA, CT, FL, GA, KY, MO, NC, NV, OH, SC, TN, TX, VA, or WI
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future
