About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Actively participate in monthly and annual accounting close processes
Calculate accruals and provisions (accrued expenses, prepaid expenses, etc.)
Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and supporting schedules
Perform bank reconciliations and related account matching
Prepare and file tax returns and declarations (VAT, European Sales List, French EC Sales List, etc.)
Ensure account control and substantiate account balances
Monitor fixed assets, manage asset additions, disposals and disposals by sale, and calculate depreciation
Participate in weekly cash reporting and analyze cash flows
Prepare weekly supplier payment runs and monitor the aged payables balance
Act as the primary point of contact for statutory auditors during audits
Liaise with banks and tax authorities
Participate in optimizing accounting tools and processes
Identify opportunities for improvement to increase efficiency and ensure the reliability of operations

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree or professional qualification in accounting or finance (BTS CG, DCG, DSCG, Master’s in Accounting, Control and Audit, or equivalent)
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in general accounting, ideally gained in an in-house role within an SME, mid-sized company, scale-up, or accounting firm
Strong knowledge of an accounting ERP; experience with SAP ByDesign is a plus
Excellent Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
Strong knowledge of French accounting standards (PCG) and standard tax requirements
Rigorous, organized, and reliable
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet demanding deadlines
Ability to analyze issues and propose practical solutions
Comfortable collaborating with a variety of stakeholders
Interest in fast-paced environments and continuous improvement
