About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support sites at and around southwest Michigan
- Work alongside experienced professionals on real civil and environmental engineering projects
- Conduct analysis as directed
- Prepare and deliver insights and recommendations based on analysis
- Synthesize findings and draw conclusions from analyses
- Make oral and written recommendations to a supervisor and/or manager
- Execute tasks related to functional projects and process improvements
- Communicate issues and roadblocks related to areas of responsibility
- Travel 50% by day in relation to the work
- Complete a meaningful project and present it to senior leaders at the end of the summer
- Participate in skill-building workshops and executive roundtables
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED (accredited)
- Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree (accredited) in a field relevant to the internship
- Civil or Environmental Engineering degree preferred
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to conduct analysis and prepare insights and recommendations
- Ability to synthesize findings and make oral and written recommendations
- Ability to communicate issues and roadblocks
- Willingness to travel 50% for day travel
- Must have or be willing to obtain a REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative if required for business air travel or access to federal property
