About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, and bearings
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections
- Diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment and components
- Maintain the Daily Equipment Inspections backlog
- Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules
- Inform the Sr. Plant Maintenance Manager when additional work is needed or cannot be completed within Standard Repair Times
- Inspect the quality of third-party repairs and rebuilds
- Recommend improvements to production, equipment performance, and product quality
- Manage multiple priorities
- Respond to emergency breakdown service calls
- Perform work with limited supervision
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards
- Report to the Plant Maintenance Manager
- Work on equipment including balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electro-magnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, motors, glass breakers, wire tie systems, fans, pumps, forklifts, front-end loaders, and building equipment
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2 years of relevant work experience
- Commercial/Industrial Maintenance preferred
- Basic electrical troubleshooting
- Hydraulic knowledge
- Conveyor and baler repair experience
- Welding fabrication is a plus
- Diesel truck and trailer repair is a bonus
- 1 year forklift experience
- Must be over 18 years of age
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to perform the physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations
- Must successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical
- Must have own tools
- Ability to push, pull, bend, and lift objects weighing more than 50 pounds
- Ability to work from ladders or raised platforms
- Ability to stand or work on concrete floors most of the workday
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends
- Ability to comply with OSHA and company safety requirements
